The engine
cases are finally polished. It took me longer than expected because
I found an awful lot of gaps, seams, pores, and so forth.
Method: Standard method with spiral
buffs, canton flannel and loose section buffs, greaseless abrasive
180-grit - tripoli - white rouge - blizzard white. All supplies from
www.tarheelparts.com
For those not familiar with polishing: this is a dirty, laborious,
and time consuming job and you have to maintain the polish by monthly
buffing (by hand). Clearcoat paint does not stick well enough (I
tried once). Carnauba wax helps.
