Base model: Honda CX 650 C (was
only made in 1983). Cousin to the CX 500 and the Silverwing touring
version.
Lucille is the successor to Carmencita,
which I rode from 1998 to 2006. Carmencita was totaled when a woman
was more interested in her cellphone conversation than in the motorcyclist
sitting at a red light in front of her. When the light turned green,
she stepped on the gas, and only stopped once her SUV was sitting on
top of the bike.
Luckily, I had bought 3 junked CX 650's
over the years, so I had an extra frame, wheels, engine, and a slew of
other stuff. I ended up buying Carmencita's wreckage back from
Allstate for just a few bucks, and they settled fairly for the damage, so
I brought a frame down from the attic and built another CX. Ended up
using Carmencita's engine block and fork. The rest is from my pile
of parts.

"Dunstall" Pipes from JCWhitney --
surprisingly good (because they were only $54 ea.), rich full sound, and not too loud. Great
chrome finish, too. Yes, most of the engine is machine-polished.
So sue me. |
All rear
lights are LED, including turn signals. Kool! |
Done!
