Amazing what you can get in
the mail these days.....
Packing peanuts are Madelines
favorite toy. Any box that arrives in the house, she has to check out ,then
sleep in.

The Backpack |
|
 |
Pictured here is the
ultimate test of my bags! A backpack for a 7th grader (my son) who carries
everything but the kitchen sink..... He has been through 3 backpacks in 2 years
and after trying to find a backpack for school at the end of the school year, I
decided to make him one. This is his design with pockets where he requested to
stuff all those little things he has to carry in school. (which are not in any
way actually related to school work!) The bottom has leather on it for extra
strength. |
Updates on backpack:In 8th grade Dan
carried ALL of his books instead of using a locker. The pack cloth held up to
the wear and tear and all the zippers held (usually the first thing to go in
commercial backpacks) but the weight is really stressing the fabric. Hence, the
foray onto the Cordura type fabric. The kid is now in 10th grade, back pack is
still going strong, holding the books, MP3 player, and
numerous crumpled, undecipherable pieces of paper. |
